What is the difference between white corundum and alumina?
First, white corundum is an artificial abrasive made from alumina as raw material, which is melted and cooled at high temperature, and alumina is indeed a high-hardness compound.
Second, the main component of white corundum is alumina. Specifically, it is the crystal form of aluminum oxide, a-Al203. In addition to alumina, there are small amounts of impurities such as iron oxide and silicon oxide, while alumina is a stable oxide of aluminum. The main elements are oxygen and aluminum, and the chemical formula is aluminum oxide. There are many uniform and non-uniform crystals, such as a-Al203, BAI203 and V-AI203
Third, the physical properties of white corundum include a melting point of 2250°C and a triangular crystal appearance; the melting point of alumina is lower than 2010C-2050°C. Its appearance is white powder and its crystal phase is V phase.

Fourth, white corundum is generally used to make abrasives, and can also be used in catalysts, insulators, casting, sandblasting and other industries. Alumina is mainly used in thermal conductivity, polishing, electroplating, catalysts and other industries.
