Core Advantages of White Fused Alumina for Matte Blasting of Precision Ceramics

Core Advantages of White Fused Alumina for Matte Blasting of Precision Ceramics

  1. White fused alumina (high‑purity α‑Al₂O₃, Mohs hardness 9) features angular cutting edges, high purity, controllable self‑sharpening property and chemical inertness. It is ideal for uniform matte / velvet satin blasting of precision structural and functional ceramics such as alumina ceramic, zirconia ceramic, aluminum nitride and silicon carbide ceramic.

It delivers uniform matte texture and precisely controllable roughness. Its angular crushed particles form surfaces by micro‑cutting rather than impact extrusion. It has a complete FEPA grit range (F80~F600 and fine powder grades). By adjusting blasting pressure, distance and angle, it can stably produce consistent matte and velvet satin finishes with minor color difference, no local bright spots or over‑etched pits. It satisfies unified appearance requirements for decorative parts, optical ceramics and ceramic substrates. The Ra roughness range is stable and repeatable, which facilitates mass production control.

  1. High purity without impurity contamination, retaining the original ceramic color. Al₂O₃ ≥99% with ultra‑low Fe₂O₃ content. No iron or heavy impurities get embedded. It will not leave rust stains like brown fused alumina or grey‑black residues like silicon carbide. The ceramic keeps a clean base color after blasting. No precipitated contamination occurs during subsequent metallization, coating, screen printing, bonding and plasma activation. This is a key requirement for electronic precision ceramics, semiconductor ceramics and medical ceramics. It is acid and alkali resistant and chemically inert, and will not react with ceramic substrates.
  2. Matched hardness and moderate self‑sharpening, controllable substrate damage. With Mohs hardness 9, it can cut ceramic surfaces effectively to form matte finishes. It has lower toughness than brown fused alumina and achieves controllable micro‑fracture self‑sharpening. Grains fracture along crystal planes upon impact and continuously expose new cutting edges for stable blasting texture in long‑term operation.
